The best selection of bonsai that I've found in the Greater NYC area. While I have indoor bonsais, I was looking for a Japanese maple. I ended up walking out with two of them that I look forward to growing and cultivating throughout the years. A big thank you to John for his help and guidance during the buying process. Today I started my new hobby and visited Bonsai John at The Bonsai Shack. John had a free beginners class. We arrived a bit early and John took some time with me to discuss some of the basics of the trees. The selection was fantastic. His class touched on all aspects of selecting and caring for the right Bonsai. I have already signed up for a paid class with John where we will be transplanting and shaping a tree that we get to keep and add to my collection. My science teacher wife confirmed that the science John taught was right on. John has gained a new customer and friend. Bonsai shack a truely amazing place. Beautiful trees and pots. Warm friendly owner and staff. Great classes with top proffessionals. They really care baout their customers and want all beginner bonsai people to suceed. They will always help you even after your purchase.
